‘I would say lenguage is that we may mis-unda-stend each udda.’
(Krazy Kat to Ignatz)
A duck, a music-hall entertainer, an it girl, a Wall Street shark, a detective, a vampire, and a young curator – a collection of question marks. Twenty-six improbable entities stuck together into a pit of darkness. No logic, no reason, no explanation; just a prolonged nightmare in which fear, loneliness, and the unexplainable walk hand in hand through the shadows.
Two liminal characters, duck and cat, when joined at the hip, become a ligature of close friends walking sweetly side by side. Mr Egg when set close to crab will consume him, steamed, buttered and plated. A Dobermann tied to an it girl can only ever result in a terrible glyph situation. Soon, we’ll start collecting clues as to the whys, the whats, and the wheres. We will not end the nightmare, nor explain it – because this is Sweathearts.
